A few years ago I purchased a used ~ 500 hour magneto which I meant to get sent in to get overhauled. Well I probably should have since the overhaul price has most likely doubled....Anyways....
I sent the mag to Aircraft Magneto Service in Stevensville, Montana. They make it really easy - print off a UPS shipping label, sent it to them, they call you back with a quote - they fix it, you pay, and you get it shipped back. With UPS ground shipping, it took about 4 weeks total. The initial cost range when I called them originally was anywhere between $400 to $1200. Mine cane back at $500 shipping. I couldn't be happier with the experience - the mag looks brand new.

They even send a little baggie full of the parts they pulled out of the mag.

clean clean clean!

I really like how they marked the alignment hole to use. I mean it isn't hard to match the letter to the size of the mag - just one less thing to mess up.

Installed! You can also see the copper fuel drain I reinstalled onto the fuel pump. The solder job worked like a charm!
