After last nights episode with sub-par heating in the hangar I did a quick Craigslist search for a kerosene heater. I quickly found someone selling a pretty much brand new 125k BTU heater for $150 (with the Home Depot price tag of $289 on it still!). I quickly ran over and bought it. This should treat me nicely to heat the hangar in the winter hopefully. I turned on the sump heater last night and arrived to see my GRT EIS indicating 93 degrees for oil temp. Looks about right to me. I started the engine up (started on the second blade!) and ran it at 1000 RPM until the CHT's got up to 200, then I ran her at about 1800 RPM for a few minutes to raise the oil pressure. I then shut her down, put her back in the hangar and removed the top cowl. No leaks were seen, so I re-cowled her and she is ready for the next flight. The winds were just a tad too stiff for my likings today, so I called it a day.
