Today I decided to move the wings to the airport. It was supposed to snow this afternoon so I woke up early and got my Dad to help me move the wings. We loaded up the wings in my truck, and the wing cradle in his truck. The ailerons and flaps were put in both trucks.

Here is how I held the wings in. I basically ties the two spars together, and then used tie downs to hole the wing on the top. I used blankets between the wings, and between the bottom wing and the trucks bedliner to protect everything. Worked great.

A quick 20 minute trip to the airport and the wings were unloaded in the hangar. Since the wings started out in my basement today, loading them took a little time to weave them out of the basement and around the back of the house. Unloading them was a complete pleasure. Took no time at all.

Here is a shot at my hangar mates RV-4. The thing is just stunning.

I drilled the bottom rudder tip to the rudder today using just #40's for now. I used the recommended 2" spacing for the holes.

And of course more filling and sanding of the empennage fairing.
