Great night tonight. I am pretty much done with the canopy frame. I started out by spending way too much time deburring the frame and side rails. Once that was done, I spot primed the parts that will never see the light of day again. I then countersunk all the holes that needed to be done and clecoed it all back together on the fuselage. I figure it being on the fuselage would provide the best jig possible to make sure the alignment doesn't stray

It was a piece of cake riveting these guys together. I couldn't get the front two rivets with the frame on the fuse, so I took it off - besides, I needed to take it off to rivet the four holes on the bottom.

Done and done. I declare the frame complete and the next step is to start playing with the plexiglass canopy. However, I am going to wait a month or two before I start on the plexi. Why you ask? One word - TEMPERATURE! I need it to warm up a bit so I can get the garage up to suitable working temp. In the mean time I am going to mate the wings and empennage to the fuselage, put the wingtips on and maybe start glassing the empennage tips. There surely isn't a lack of items to tackle. So this is it for the canopy/finish kit for a while.
