Happy New Year! It's been a few weeks since I last flew - between the holidays and work trips I've been busy nearly every day. The last time I flew my G5's were complaining about IGRF data missing, which is the International Geomagnetic Reference Field. I didn't really know how to fix this, but I lucked out because when I booted up the panel today, the G5 noticed it's IGRF database was out of date and there was a new one on the 8.17 microSD card. So it loaded right on up! It took a hard power-on from the ships power to get the database to update. Power cycling through the front power button wasn't enough to kick off the upgrade cycle - probably why I missed it. So it you are getting a IGFR error, power down your panel, keep the microSD card in it and boot it up. It should resolve itself.
