During my annual I noted the inboard brake pad on the right wheel had some strange wear to it, caused by a piece of metal lodged into the rotor.

The wear looked much worse during the annual - my fear was looking at the wear line, I worried it would potentially create a crack right down the middle of the pad. For as cheap as pads are, it was worth it to change it out for new pads to mitigate any risk.

New pads on and I am back in business with one less worry in my life.

The founder of LiveATC, Dave, and I have been in correspondence over the last couple of years about getting a feed setup for unicom and ATIS at KDMW. He happened to be in town and wanted to check out our hangar setup for antenna suitability. We got talking and his first GA flight was with no other than the great Dan Checkoway. Dave and Dan worked together well before Dan built his RV-7 when they both worked in Massachusetts. When I asked Dave if he had ever been for a ride in an RV or experimental - he surprisingly said no! So we changed that tonight! I know it doesn't seem like much of an RV grin on his face, but I assure you he had a great time!
