I needed to make a work trip up to Long Island to visit Belmont Park and Aqueduct. There aren't many great ways to get up to NY for a day trip. A 3 hour train followed by a 1 hour cab ride, a 4 hour drive and commercially flying are the main ways people in my company get up there. Any everyone complains what a pain in the ass it is. I decided the RV would be the best way! Flying up there was a fog layer over most of Delaware, NJ and Eastern PA. Dropped down around Sandy Hook, NJ. I stayed in this marina with a boat I bought about 9 year ago. Ships anchored out in the ocean waiting to load/unload or get new orders. The trip couldn't of gone smoother. I flew into KFRG and it was super busy - as it normally is. I used SheltAir FBO. They are the best FBO on the field. I have used the other ones, but the people at SheltAir had me in my car and out the gate no more than 15 minutes after I arrived. Their 100LL price is a little higher than other places on the field, but their parking rate is nearly half. The day of work was very successful and I was back in the air a little past 4pm. The visibility was just awesome. Coming back over Sandy Hook. Looks like an awesome NJ beach. Flew over Princeton. No hurt feelings for them not accepting this stellar 2.5 GPA high school student!
