It was an absolute pleasure to work in the garage tonight. 45 degrees with the door wide open and the heater off. So far we have had a brutal winter compared to years past. It's nice to get a break. One item that has been on my to-do list for a while is drilling the pitot hole from the fuselage to the wing root rib. I could of measured it out, but because the bottom of the wing is a compound curve, there was some inaccuracy possible. Since there isn't that much space between the wing root and the fuselage skin, I decided to mount the wing quickly and mark where the pitot passthrough will be. Here is the hole where the pitot line passes through. I took an old sharpie marker and ground down the radius enough to fit through this hole to mark the wing rib. After about 30 minutes of the wing being mounted, it came off again. You can see here where the pitot line will penetrate. Finally I did some more filling on the empennage fairing. All this structural filling sucks because I have to wait a day between applying epoxy. Oh well, lots of other stuff to work on. This fairing ended up taking WAY more time than I anticipated.
