Sadly the simple flox patch I tried to make for the altimeter cutout didn't bond well to the edges of the altimeter knob bumpout. Damn.

Hmmmm. What else can I try that is simple. OK, why not try some Rage Gold?

Rage failed also. I have to say the Rage Gold adhered much better than the epoxy/flox. However, I found the rage to be very brittle. The flox was much more malleable.

So it looks like I need some sort of a backing plate in order to give some filler some more "meat" to bite onto. I made this thin spacer out of some wasted trim tab skin. I think it is either 020 or 016"

I was thinking about riveting it on, but that would of been a pain with double flush rivets and extra filling. So I gave a shot at epoxying it to the back of the panel. I have a good feeling about this tactic.
