I installed a ball valve with an extension in place of the drain valve on the compressor. This will make it way easier to drain the compressor each night. I got the idea from some post on the VAF forums.

Next I broke in the compressor. Pretty simple to do - let the compressor warm up with no load (open drain valve), then when warm, let run for an hour with the pressure at around 80 psi. I let the compressors pressure climb to 80 psi, then opened up the drain valve and adjusted it to equalize at around 80 psi. While the compressor was running, I opened up the subpanel and took a current measurement on the compressor - 12.2 amps. Considering clothes dryer draws between 22 and 26 amps, this compressor isn't going to impact my electric bill all that much. One thing that I did notice was the garage probably heated up 2-3 degrees from the compressor. Maybe I don't need a heater out there this winter with that thing running.

I took the drop fitting, rotated it 90 degrees and put my air setup on it. It is friggin sweet!

Last but not least I put a ball valve on the bottom of the tank to make it easy to drain it after I am done with it each day. The twist valve that came with it was just too awkward to get to, which would of led to me being lazy and just not draining the tank.
