Phew! Gas prices shot up 28 cents per gallon since the last I was here. I'm glad I topped off the tanks then. The strips of aluminum I epoxied to the gear leg fairings worked out perfectly. A simple clamp and they were good to go. I needed to work on how the brackets would be attached to the top of the fairing. I ended up using just some #6 screws into a nutplate attached to the bracket. A tinneman washer gives the screw something larger to attach to. The completed product, without alignment. This setup is really solid. There is no creep or sway in the fairings. Before I left for the night, I caught the right side fairing up to the left side by epoxying the attachment strip to the lower end of the fairing.
