My FAB was about 3/8" away from the bottom of the cowl. I thought it was too close and put a call out to one of the forums to ask for advice. Most people said I should shoot for closer to 3/4". However, my baseplate on the fuel servo was as close as it was going to get to the side of the FAB. My only other option was resizing the left side of the FAB. I read somewhere (I think it was Roberta Hegy) that used a heatgun on the fiberglass parts to cause it to soften up and be reshaped. So with nothing to lose I got the heatgun out and reshaped the FAB. It left some small cracks in the FAB where I rebent it -- I figure I will put a layer or two over that to reinforce it.

So the fiberglass "bending" was easy. I needed to reshape the top plate of the FAB for the new shape of the fiberglass. You can see it turned out pretty freakin' nice! I am constantly amazed at my skillz! Its pretty gnarly now...tomorrow I will clean it up a little.
