I noticed my AFP fuel pump filter element started to come apart in my last annual. Since it was held together with a spring, I wasn't worried about it coming apart in flight or causing issues. However, it wasn't right. So I ordered up a new filter and new O-Rings and refurbed my fuel filter back to almost new. Most of the inspection panels were reinstalled. Feels great to get the RV close to flying again! I calibrated the magnetometer, which consisted of rotating the RV in a circle, starting at it pointing north and then rotating it 30 degress (basically following what the G5 was telling me to do). My autopilot kicks off immediately upon turning it on, so I don't know what's going on here. The fault log indicates it's a "Attitude Comparator" issue, but nothing more. Time to look into this some more. I did fire up the engine today which felt great! So close to being back in the air. I had no idea this upgrade would take such a long time. I can see now why the shops charge so much for GFC500 installations.
