After nearly 6 years of the airplane being airworthy and terrorizing the skies, I felt like it is finally time to get her looking a little better. The skins have developed a slight haze to them and the bottoms of the skins have some minor surface corrosion on them from the moisture that occasionally forms in the hangar. After reading some of the forums, the Purple Metal Polish came highly recommended. I can see why - the two part product was $35 shipped via amazon. After literally 5 minutes worth of work on the top of the right horizontal stabilizer, this is the result! There is some pitting towards the leading edge, but the rest of the skin looks fabulous. This is the left-top skin of the horizontal skin. Night and day difference! And the true comparison - the recently polished skin of the stabilizer vs the unpolished skin of the elevator. This polish is simply amazing. I still have a good amount of work to do on the bottom of the stabilizer as that is where the surface corrosion is apparent. I am thinking of picking up some Nuvite F7 and C grade polish to take care of the surface corrosion, and then finish the job up with this purple magic.
