Tonight I inspected the aft fuselage behind the baggage bulkhead and also the flap arms behind the inspection panel. I worked myself forward next. Every year I don't look forward to inspecting the fuel filter due to all of the fuel that typically pours out of it. However, this year I tried to be smart my shutting down the engine before I started my annual by turning the fuel selector to the "OFF" position. My thought was hopefully the fuel filter would be somewhat drained of fuel, leaving the amount spilled to a minimum. Turns out my thought was spot on! Only a drip or two of fuel leaked out when I removed the filter for inspection.
