The other day I painted a good number of the UHMW bushings to see if the paint would stick. After two days of drying, it sticks magnificently! I didn't do any special prep to the plastic other than wipe down with acetone. They look way cool.

Also tonight I spent about an hour figuring out where to mount my Matco parking brake. I found the perfect spot, but I need to order some cushion clamps and B-Nut's to make sure the alignment is perfect. At least the hard work is done, once I get my order from ACS with the parts, it will be a no brainer to put it in.

I figured now was as good of time as ever to rivet on the center rudder brace. I really didn't want to forget to do this before the recess was riveted in.

I also riveted on this bracket on the F-705 bulkhead - it is used as part of the canopy latching mechanism.

Checkoway had a good idea on putting some keeper rivets to hold the angle on the inside bottom of the recess hole. When this gets sealed up this makes it easier to not have to worry about placing another angle inside.

Next I fabbed up a doubler for the fuel penetration point. I ended up MOVING the point 1/4" to the left of where the plans called for it because the original location interfered with the starter solenoid's terminal.
