I primed the stiffeners along with the internals of the rudder tonight. One thing that I did that really made a difference was how I dipped the stiffeners in Alodine. I kept all of the stiffeners in groups (Left Top, Left Bottom, Right Top, Right Bottom) in case I lost my etching marks. After I scrubbed them down with Alumiprep, I tied them all together with a pair of solid twisted wire I cut from a CAT5 cable (CAT5 is network cable). I basically cut a 2' section of CAT5, then took out the pairs of wires (4 pair) and looped each pair through a group of stiffeners. I then dipped each group of stiffeners in alodine, then washed. It made alodining all of them super fast.
