Wow, over a month since I've worked on the project. Hard to believe it's been that long. I have been completely busy for the past month with all kinds of things going on. Good news is I have nothing really planned to eat up my RV time until the end of the year. So its time to get this puppy in the air.

While I was not working on the project I did order and receive my cowling plugs from Bruce's Custom Covers. I needed to measure the James Cowl inlets for them, but they made some outstanding plugs!

I have been meaning to install the weather seal on the bottom of the canopy for some time as well. Tonight I got around to it. I used McMaster-Carr part number 1120A712 and it worked great. It was a little tough to work on, but in the end it was a great fit. Update 12/10/2020. I replaced this weather seal today with McMaster 1120A111. IT IS MUCH MUCH BETTER. It has a deeper channel (grip height of 9/16" vs the other at 3/8") which has more overlap with the canopy frame.

The static line goes under this canopy deck, and it is relatively unsupported. I installed some nylon zip tie mounting blocks under here to help secure it. The zip ties were used to help hold the nylon base to get it to stick to the underside of the canopy deck. Once it dries, I will use the zip ties to secure the tubing to the base.

KDMW seems to be where all the blimps around Baltimore stay overnight. This is the Conan O'Brien promotional blimp for his new show on TBS.
