So I have the wings all ready to be leveled and have the skins fitted. I wake up eary and run into the garage to get started and I start to get chilly real quick. Yup, mid november and the garage was about 45 degrees this morning. I have the whole day to myself, so instead of working on the silly old plane, I decided it was a good time to install the electric heater I just got a few days ago. I *could* postpone installing it, but I can see me installing it on a 30 degree day cussing all the time. The heater is a Dayton G73 5 kW electric heater, 17,100 BTU purchased from www.air-n-water.com. I had to run a 30 amp circuit for it, so off to Home Depot to buy some 10-2. I hate buying copper wire....it is way overpriced. $55 for 50'. It took some time to wire it up and mount it, but it fired up the first time and seems to work well. It only costs $0.55 per hour to run (5kW @ $0.11 / kWh), which I don't find too outrageous. Beats the hell out of runing out of propane!
