This morning I disassembled my slick magneto to take a look inside. It looked damn near perfect. I cleaned up anything I could and then re-lubricated some of the bushings.


I installed the mags and timed them with the buzz box.


I keep a reference mark on the mag to impulse spacer (upper left torque seal circled). This let's me know where to set the mag with the flywheel at 25 BTDC and the mag internally timed. The other mark (center of pic) is an arrow indicating which way to rotate the mag to time it. Because I only do this once a year, it's easy to forget.


I installed the oil cooler back onto the rear of the baffles. This of course was quite a chore.
