I have been really dragging my feet finishing the smoke system up. I made a permanent mount for the smoke oil pump that sits on top of the tank. Not my most beautiful mounting board, but it was scrap wood that fit perfectly on top of the tank.

I have been somewhat unhappy with the density of the smoke coming out of my system has been. The instructions say to shoot for 1/2 GPM, which the instructions say is 3/4 to 1 turn of the flow control knob. I cranked it up to about 1.5 turns without it getting better.

I was expecting my flow to be low - however, the opposite was true! I was pumping about 1 GPM through the system. After a few iterations, I found my output of 1/2 GPM was achieved with 1/2 - 5/8 turn of the flow control knob.

I went for a test flight and it seemed much better. More is not always better is what I learned, and I saved myself some smoke oil!
