All of the work that I have done over the past week finally paid off. I wired up the air compressor. Before I flipped the switch, I got my voltmeter out and made sure that all of the voltages were where they were supposed to be. Then, without knowing how loud everything would be, I put on hearing protection and goggles and flipped the switch. I was pleasantly surprised with how quiet the compressor is. This 5HP 60 Gallon compressor is definitely quieter than my 1.5HP 5 Gallon portable unit. I closed my garage door and walked outside to see how bad it would be for the neighbors. No Factor. Then I closed the door between the garage and the house, turned off the TV and sat on my couch and it was quieter than the dishwasher that was going.

I ran it for about a minute tonight just to make sure it works. I have to run it for 60 minutes at 80psi tomorrow to break in the rings (just like a lycoming ;-). Definitely a good night in the shop.

Next thing is to mount the the filter/regulator and oilers up on the wall. Wouldn't you know that I have everything to do it but some male-male 1/2 adapters. Oh well, another Home Depot run.
